Navodya Vidyalaya :That turn a small kid into a Self Dependant Man

Hi EveryOne

Yes true that’s the awesome moment when some one say I am a Navodayan. That’s only A Navodayan who can keep smiling even in a situation like a hell. I would try to keep this post more inclined towards expressing a general feeling being a student of Navodaya rather explaining each and every technicality of NVS. I hope every student of Navodaya can able to relate these feelings.

At one peculiar day my mom has slapped me not because she hated me but I was troubling her a lot, fortunately that was the day when I have received result of NVS Shyampur entrance exam. And just because of my childish anger I landed to the Navodaya Vidyalaya shyampur. Even I didn’t aware what kind of school is this. And I think that’s the only time when I have taken the right decision in anger. I still remember that first night in Navodaya when I was crying whole night on upper bad of Nalanda house. I didn’t able to sleep whole night even a single second and suddenly I heard a sound of whistle I felt like it is mocking on me and saying come and clean the grass of playground. Yes its correct that’s was the experience of my first morning pity. That’s the beginning of transformation of a small kid to a self-dependent individual. After passing of complete seven-year now I became a complete self-dependent man who may don’t know every thing but can manage whatever the adverse situation is. That amount of enormous courage I have developed because of Navodaya. I have firm believe that you can put a Navodayan in any situation and damn sure he will find best from it.It’s not about me it is generalized attitude of a Navodaya student.

Let for sake of completion come to monotonous but much desired introduction of Navodaya. Navodaya was a dream of Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru which is materialized by Mr Rajiv Gandhi in 1986. Navodaya Vidyalaya is a group of schools which are run by Navodaya Vidyalaya Samilti an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Human Resources and Developement. Currently more than 500 Navodaya are running in the every district of India even in Lakshdeep and Andman Nikobar.Tamilnadu is the only state where you don’t find any Navodaya.Navodaya are running classes from 6th to 12th which affiliated by CBSE, completely residential and coeducational. Objective of these school is to provide the best CBSE education to rural deprived talented mind with zero fees. Yes you read it correctly with no fees. Only the general and obc upper poverty line student of class 9th to 12th are paying 200 rs fees which is contributed towards the well fare of school. And I think that’s fare and nominal.

Now you must have the query that how one can join the Navodaya. There is very simple eligibility you must have attended three consecutive year from any government or government affiliated school from one district. You can apply to that district Navodaya. You need to face the entrance exam of Navodaya in class 5th which is held in every year second Sunday of February. Forms of entrance exam is completely free and easily can be collected from any of these point
1 Block Education Officer (BEO)
2 District Educational Officer (DEO)
3 Headmasters of any government/government aided school.
4 Principal Jawahar Navodaya Vidhyalaya.
Even there is a lateral entry in class 9th and 11th but seats are very less compared to class 6th. That’s how you can become a part of this prestigious institute. You can get the more details on NVS site.

                                                                                          Glimpse of Navodya

Let’s try to know, What make us so strongly attache to the Navodaya. It is your long seven-year engagement with Navodaya which cater immense memories and the excellent education which help us to excel in every field. A seven-year long hostel life which gave us our best buddies and taught us to remain firm in every odd situation. Though the life was little tough in Navodaya without our family but we created our own big family. It was full of rush from morning 5 to evening 10 still we was having enough time to stare the girls over a food court. A short walk from school building to hostel was enough to discuss the so-called deepest issues of life. Don’t think we wouldn’t be having time for games or co curricular. Indeed, the games was the most favorite time of most of the student including me. There is different setup called cultural and cluster which gave the opportunity even to join national and upper national label. Every thing was so organized and planed in itself gives us the motivation to keep moving. This is the link of  My Navodya

When I was the part of this system I keep on criticizing the Navodaya and that is normal with every Navodyan but time taught us the value of great thing. I can keep on writing about the Navodaya, I still remember when we spent a whole night to discuss random things about Navodaya with my best buddies. A sparkle naturally comes in eyes of every Navodayan just hearing the word Navodaya. Let’s again join the hand to thanks the Navodya family who worked hard for the betterment of us. Lets thanks to that Navoday staff who cared us like their own kids. I never mention the name of any teacher but simply you won’t be unforgettable. We can reach any height in our life but it wouldn’t be possible without the help of you.

Thanks Navodaya Family
Thanks a lot.

Disclaimer:This post is completely my own feeling it doesn’t write to criticize any other organization or for promotion of NVS. You can use your intellect to choose your school freely.
